I have a huge scrapbook of my grandmother’s, filled with letters from my grandfather while he was serving in the war. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and inspired me to make something in memory of my favorite couple…
I learned so much about my precious grandparents and the true love they had for each other in my prized book of love letters. He wrote “I walk alone” on this particular letter I chose to frame. A few pages later, I found a flyer given to servicemen from the entertainers with the words to a song called I’ll Walk Alone. I decided to include the flyer in my frame as well.
- Frame- I used 11X14, which I found on sale for $11 at Michael’s. It has distressed red areas, but unfortunately, they don’t show up in these pictures.
- Scrapbook letters or Scrabble tiles
- Memorabilia- pictures, letters, envelopes…
I used Heidi Swapp hearts and Color Shine paint to decorate the frame. The hearts have a chevron pattern, which takes on the color of the paint. The rest can be blotted off with a paper towel.
The hearts and letters are attached to the outside of the glass…
This project was inspired by the Love You Frame from Crafts by Courtney I found on Pinterest. If you don’t have personal family letters, try the scrapbook paper Courtney used.
