Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is just right, not too hot or cold, somewhere exactly in the middle. The neighborhood kids are all dressed up, running around, begging for candy. I think it is the decorations though that are the most fun. This is a tutorial to show you how to make a quick and easy Witch’s Brew decoration.
Supplies needed:
- Witch’s hat, shoe, and broom
- Black plastic cauldron
- Pool noodle
- Spider web cotton
- Plastic spiders
- Striped tights
- Sheet or small blanket
- Optional: picture frame
Step 1: Fold the noodle in half and put in cauldron along with the broom. I used an old sheet to hold the noodle and broom in place as seen in the picture to the left.
Step 2: Put the tights on the noodle.
Step 3: Place the hat on one end of the noodle and the shoe on the other. I originally planned to use two shoes and hang the hat from the broom. Kroger only had one shoe left so I tried it like this and decided to leave it. I think it brings a little originality to the decoration.
Step 4: Finish with the cotton spider web and small plastic spiders.
Optional: I added a picture frame with a Witch’s Brew recipe. I used Photoshop Elements and Picmonkey.com to create the recipe in the picture to the left. Photoshop was mainly for the symbols font so I wouldn’t have to be clever enough to come up with the recipe ingredients. Feel free to print this out and use it for your frame. My frame is 3X5. You will need to resize the picture to fit your frame choice.
*If this is your first visit, you may be wondering why this cute DIY craft is hanging out on a health blog. I would love for you to click over and meet Candace to learn more about the reason for that transition. I’m so glad you’re here!!

Oh my gosh, how adorable, Candace! I LOVE Halloween too! We have SO many crates of hll. decor that it;s kind of overwhelming, I wanted to start putting some witches and pumpkins out today but the boys asked if we could wait a week b.c they’re kind of tired of the decor by Halloween itself…so we will…. Love this, so creative!
See you soon and have a great Sunday!
Thanks Chris! I put out my decorations a little early this year. Last year I didn’t decorate at all for Halloween so I was far overdue! I also knew I wanted to make this so it helped motivate me. Happy Sunday to you too!
Hi Candace – Wow, the pool noodle and tights are GENIUS! Would love to have you link up at my Which is Scarier party going on. Hugs, Holly
Thank you Holly for your sweet comment and invitation! I just linked up and added it to my Link-up page. Hopefully I can help spread the word. Your ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ craft is going to be one of my next projects!
Miss Candace 🙂 how are you? Not a Halloween person but I had to stop by and read your post on it, I can still pass it on. Take care, have a beautiful day.
Hi Camii! I am good, hope you are as well. Definitely pass this on to any Halloween fans you know of. So glad you stopped by!
