These cute, monogrammed candy dishes are easy to make, personalized gifts for teachers, neighbors, or anyone else on your Christmas list.
I purchased a variety of glass containers and candlestick holders at Hobby Lobby:
Using Amazing Goop Craft Glue, attach the glass containers to the candlestick holders. Allow to dry completely. You may want to switch the order of these steps depending on how you add the monogram. If using etching cream, definitely do that first.
I originally planned to use a stencil of the initials and paint the letter on. I ended up just using the cut monograms from my Silhouette machine. There are a wide variety of methods you could use here. I think surrounding the vinyl letter with sharpie marker dots and then removing it would also be a nice effect. I chose the easiest method because I had 11 to make for all of my son’s teachers by tomorrow.
Just add candy, cookies, or any other treat!

Great idea! What a nice custom gift for those important people that touch our children’s lives.
Candace
Thanks Jeanette! Teachers are so important. I was surprised when my son listed 11, but I wanted to do something for all of them. These are easy and cost effective!

Those turned out really pretty, and they’re so easy to personalize with the recipient’s favorite treat inside!
Candace
I think it would be great to personalize the contents, Rachel. I bought big bags of candy because of the quantity I had to make. I love the idea of catering to each individual though!
Chris
Aw, these are just lovely! Pinned! Great idea! Thank you, Candace.
I also wanted to let you know I was excited to use your amaz affil link to buy a word game for my kids. Now, we’re “done!” I was looking for something like this and stumbled upon it in a ( very expensive) store on this local seaside town that we wandered through yesterday for my son’s bday. We always seem to wind up there on special days…it’s festive and it has a “vacation” feel to it, even tho it’s only 10 min away. The ferry to CT leaves from the town so it kind of has a New England flavor, which is great.
Anyway, came home and perused amaz, found it for a fraction of their cost and bought it. Happy I can link thru your url.
Have a lovely day, Candace. Thanks for sharing this great gift idea…..
“See” you soon!
Candace
Thanks for the pin and amazon purchase, Chris! You are so appreciated! I actually bought my daughter a ring through your link a few days ago :). I’m sure I’ll be using it again. I love amazon! They have such great deals. Hope you had a lovely day as well my friend!
Carla
These are so cute! It seems rather simple. I’ve been trying to win one of those Silhouette machines for months so I can make cute things like this. I’ll keep trying! 🙂
Candace
Thanks Carla! It is incredibly simple. I just got my machine a couple of months ago and I love it. I hope you can win one!

Sorry for my late response, Christina! This was put in my spam for some reason. Thanks for your visit! I completely agree on those as the best attributes of a project- easy, frugal, and pretty :)!

Hey Candace, this is such a great and easy gift to make. I will have to pin this and keep it in mind for Christmas.
Candace
Thanks, Sonya! I made them for Christmas gifts as well. I need to think of something new to make in the next couple of weeks for end of year gifts :).
