I’ve wanted to try the new smoothie bowl craze for months now. I finally got a chance to make a few varieties and completely fell in love with them. Check out these easy to make recipes for a perfect quick, healthy breakfast!
My first attempt was a Green Smoothie Bowl. I wanted something easy and quick. Just add the following to your blender and it’s ready to eat!
- 1 banana, fresh or frozen
- 1/3 avocado
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1-2 handfuls each: spinach and kale
- 1 tsp of NutriBullet Superfood Cleansing Greens
I absolutely love my NutriBullet Blender and it served me well with all of these recipes. I had to shake it a couple of times between blends. Next time I’ll put the frozen stuff in first and the greens last. (This worked perfectly in the third recipe below.)
My toppings: frozen blueberries, granola, and chia seeds. It was truly amazing and so pretty too! This bowl quickly became a hit in my little Instagram community:
For my second attempt, I tested an Acai Smoothie Bowl from Bon Appetit. They don’t provide measurements so here are the exact ingredients I used:
- 1 Sambazon Acai Berry Pack (I found their recommended brand at Kroger)
- 1/4 avocado
- 1/3 cup almond milk
- 1 banana
I topped mine with strawberries cut into a cute flower, walnut pieces, and chia seeds. For more great topping ideas, check out their recipe. A delicious success:
The final bowl is my favorite creation. I love cherries and chocolate, so I combined the 2 to make a must-try recipe. This KIND Dark Chocolate Granola was the perfect ingredient (thankfully, also the lowest in sugar I could find):
Cherry-Chocolate Smoothie Bowl
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 1/4 avocado
- 1 banana
- 1 large handful spinach
- 1/2 cup almond milk
Blend above ingredients. Top with KIND Dark Chocolate Whole Grain Clusters (crushed), frozen cherries, and chia seeds.
Which one will you try first? I would love to hear what you think! These are all great for a sweet treat replacement as well, especially for those of us trying to avoid sugar and make healthier food choices.
